Stronger Minds: Crime and Nourishment

Chartered Psychologist, Kimberley Wilson hosts the Stronger Minds Podcast and brings you everything you need to know about how to build a healthier brain and a stronger mind, including food and nutrition.

Crime and Nourishment is a four part series within this podcast highlighting the link between poor nutrition, hunger and crime.  The evidence of improved behaviour and academic outcomes for children with access to breakfast clubs, of reduced violence with improved nutrition in prison populations, as well as other research from around the world on nutrition, brain and behaviour, is well-established.  But we’re still no closer to answering on key question. Why aren’t we doing anything with this information?

This is Episode 1 entitled: The Kids Aren’t Alright and examines the  evidence that shows the beneficial effect of nutrition on childhood behavioural disorders and the the surprising and worrying link between hunger and school exclusions.
