Podfolio is a mobile enabled website, not an app. Add the Podfolio icon to your Home Screen on your mobile phone and then you can use the website in the same way as an app. When you are on the Podfolio website on your mobile phone, just click Share then Add to Home Screen. Here’s a quick video that shows you how:

We group our handpicked content on a topic or theme into a Pod. We then organise our Pods by category. You can view all our Pods by category using our Pod Index.

Each Pod generally contains one or two podcasts, two or three videos and two to four articles that together explore a topic.

We also have an ‘Xtra’ section, where we list additional resources or further reading, if you want to explore the topic in more detail.

A Collection is a selection of podcast series, covering a similar broad area of interest.

A Pod includes individual podcast episodes, that suit a particular topic or subject.

You can view all Pods using our Pod Index. To see Collections, go to the Pod Index and select the category ‘Collections’ from the available list of categories.

When you create an account, you are automatically sent two emails: a welcome email and an email to verify your account. Look out for both.

Depending on your settings, these emails sometimes end up in junk folders. If you don’t receive a verification email within a few minutes of creating your account, please check your junk folders. You will need to click the link in the verification email to activate your account.

Share content or your collections via email or social media.

Like a bookclub but instead of choosing a book, choose one of our Pods.

We have a suggested Podclub collection to get you started, or if you prefer, create and share your own collection.

Have a look through our Pod Index and choose the Pods that your Podclub might enjoy.

Save the first Pod by using the button underneath the description of the Pod and create a new collection name. For example, ‘Sarah’s Podclub’.

Then add as many more Pods as you like to that collection, again using the button underneath the description of the Pod.

Go to Members Area/My Favourites and you will see the new collection saved there. Expand the collection to view the Pods you have selected.

To share this page by email, click ‘Copy Link’ under the collection name.

Paste that link into an email and when others click the link, it will bring them to that collection page. They will only see that collection. They will not see anything else saved in your favourites and they will not see any of your personal notes either.

Yes, you can share a Pod or individual podcast, video or article by clicking the button underneath the Pod description or individual item.

To share more than one piece of media at a time, create a collection and then share.

Save a whole Pod to your collections by using the button underneath the description of the Pod.

Save an individual podcast, video or article to your collections by using the button underneath each item.

These can then be viewed in your personal Members Area/My Favourites and with a click of a button you can share them with your friends, using either ‘Copy Link’ or ‘Share by Email’.

You can see the list of topics under development on the Contact page.

Click the topic you want to vote for and the click the ‘Submit’ button. If you want to vote for more than one topic, repeat the process again. You can vote for as many topics as you like.

Topics with the most votes will get pushed to the front of the development queue.

You can suggest a topic by using the form on the Contact page.

All suggestions will be discussed at our next editorial meeting, where we agree the list of topics under development.  We love to hear from our members and will do our best to bring you the content that interests you.

Apply to become a guest curator using the form on our Contact page.

If you are passionate about something, or have expertise to share, then get in touch. No qualifications needed, we just need an outline of your idea and why you think you can curate us a high quality Pod. We don’t pay guest curators. It is simply an opportunity to contribute as a Podfolio member.

We will include a couple of lines on each guest curator in the Pod description and one link to an external site or profile. Please be aware that we do not allow self promotion within the Pod content. You cannot select content of your own or content related to your business. You are able to advertise next to the Pod, at our usual rates.

If you are selected as a guest curator, we will send you more detailed guidelines.

Yes, if it meets the criteria below. We don’t guarantee to review it or provide feedback. The choice of content we list is entirely ours, based on quality and relevancy. We don’t allow sponsored or promoted content. You will need to create an account and then sent it to us via the Contribute Page, using the ‘Something Else’ message box. Please carefully review our Pod Index before sending, and include in your message the topic or collection that you consider your content relates to.

Content listed on Podfolio needs to be relevant, useful and free. We won’t use any content that is behind a paywall or requires users to log in. The content also needs to be good quality and predominately about the subject we are exploring.

We make money through paid advertising on the site. We receive commission for purchases made through links in on this site. For example. Podfolio is an Amazon Associate and a HelloFresh Affiliate and earns commission from qualifying purchases.

However, we decide on the Pod topics and the content that we think our members will enjoy. And then we choose adverts that are relevant or give advertisers the opportunity to advertise alongside.

Advertisers have no influence over the topics we select or the content we choose.

Our pledge to you is that content comes first and advertising follows.

No sponsored content, no advertorials, no self promoting content. Ever.

We select content for our Pods based on relevance and quality.

We then link to the original source, making sure we credit the content creator.

As we only choose content that is free, many will contain their own adverts. These are nothing to do with us.

However, we do make sure that the content does not appear sponsored and that the adverts don’t detract from the quality.

Yes, if the original content creator allowed it to be downloaded.

All of the content on Podfolio is set up as ‘ready to play’ on the site, using embedded links made available by the content creators. You can’t download content from Podfolio, as we do not own or host the content directly.

If you want to download a podcast, search for the name of the podcast you want to download using one of podcast listening apps: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Stitcher etc. and see if it is available for download.

For videos, click ‘Watch’ under the video on Podfolio, click the link to the external site where the video is hosted and can see if it is available for download. You can also check on the YouTube app whether the video is available for download, by searching for the video by name.

For articles, you can use an app like Pocket to save and store articles to read offline. Download the Pocket app for your device or laptop. Follow the link from Podfolio to the original article and then either ‘share’ to Pocket (mobile) or copy and paste the link to Pocket using ‘+’ on the toolbar (desktop).

We can see how often content is played and believe that is the most accurate way of assessing what is popular.

We do actively encourage our members to contribute, by voting on topics under development and suggesting new topics.
